East Twipra is a Kokborok based Digital Publisher, we publish articles covering a wide field of Subjects related to Politics, History, language, religion, sports, insights, current events, achievements, Self experience, Religion, Educational, Videography, Photography, and so on. We also review policies, statements, movies, series and also have a opinionated views about everything.
We are based on Khumulwng, and we are a team of enthusiastic people who are willing to dedicate themselves in promoting and standardizing Kokborok.
East Twipra started as a college newspaper, but we soon shifted our focus on Digital Platforms, like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (Our Twitter page got suspended for invalid reasons we still have no clue) and YouTube. On the purpose of not just being a college centric newspaper but rather a general digital news media company. We also have a website where we publish a detailed explained Articles about all subjects.
Our main objective is to provide an explanatory visual story telling through our post and also through short and long video formats. We are currently thinking of making documentries, we have started writing script about the JUDO Hall of Khumulwng that's our main upcoming big project.
We have been inspired by many media houses and digital publishers, mainly BBC, Vox, The Quint, Scroll.in, The Wire, East Mojo, Outlook Magazine and many more. But the most influential brand I can think of is "Homchang", it was they that made us realise that we can go digital with that kind of format and do what we love to do so in the process. Our name East Twipra is obviously inspired from East Mojo, and another reason why we took up this name was because we have North, South, and West Tripura districts but no East Tripura so that's where we took the name, as we wanted to put the Kokborok version of Tripura that is Twipra in our name.
We aim to reach among all the Kokborok speaking people and give them a presentable news publisher in Kokborok, we thrive to do a tones of projects covering every aspect of our Tiprasa life, and promoting and standardizing Kokborok is and will be the top most priority of East Twipra in the process.
